The proposed transfer of River Re Limited's reinsurance & general insurance business, to Riverstone Insurance (UK) Limited.
River Re Limited (River Re) is proposing to transfer its reinsurance and general insurance business, to Riverstone Insurance (UK) Limited (RIUK) (the Proposed Transfer).
The Proposed Transfer will be implemented through an insurance business transfer under Part VII of the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000, and an application has been made to the High Court of England and Wales for its approval.
The Proposed Transfer will not proceed unless it is approved by the High Court.
The court hearing to consider and, if thought fit, approve the Proposed Transfer, is currently scheduled for 28th January 2026 and will be held at The Rolls Building, Fetter Lane, London, EC4A 1NL.
If the Proposed Transfer is approved by the High Court, it is proposed that it will take place on 31st January 2026 and policies written by, as well as the business of River Re will transfer to RIUK on 1st February 2026 .
